iLoveMakonnen reveals that he's ready for retirement.
  If tweets Atlanta musician iLoveMakonnen sent over the weekend are any indication, he could soon be chucking the deuces to his rap career. After declaring the "rap game wack," he stated that he's retiring.
  iLoveMakonnen went on to explain that the rap game doesn't need him, and instead needs more artists like him, those unafraid to be themselves.
  "Rap game Wack, everyone flexed up except Makonnen, that's why I'm retiring. Lol this so good...The game don't need Me, the game need more like me , more that will be themselves and not afraid like everyone else! It's all love...It's ok guys, u have me until 17," iLoveMakonnen wrote in a series of tweets.

With the release of its debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising, the New York trio garnered the unintended label of hippy because of the LP’s colorful cover art and D.A.I.S.Y. acronym. De La Soul combated this image with De La Soul is Dead, released May 13, 1991.
From the album cover depicting a broken flower pot to songs with stark subject matter and biting social commentary, the group sought to show the world it meant more than flower power.

A Grammy Award-winning producer is claiming that Iggy Azalea took advantage of him to get in the rap game and then didn't pay him after she got her big break with Def Jam. So now Jon Jon Traxx is suing Azalea for $1.5 million, TMZ reports.
Traxx, who has worked with Beyonce, Keyshia Cole and Lecrae, says that he inked a recording contract with the "Fancy" rapper in 2009. For the next two years, he got her career off the ground by helping her network, coordinate shows and getting her a stylist.

  With the popularity of his recent mixtapes and a feature on Kanye West's The Life of Pabloalbum, Young Thug stays winning. However, TMZ reports that the Atlanta rapper will not show love to the winner of a contest who was promised a Young Thug feature.
WeThePlugg.com is suing Thugger for $14,500 for bailing on the company after promising to record a feature for its social media contest winner. In the case, which was filed in Georgia, the company says it gave the rapper $5,000 up front and told him he would get an additional $10,000 after recording the verse.

  The Prince Museum has opened its vault following the iconic musician’s death on April 21, releasing rare footage of Prince andKendrick Lamar performing together.
       
         Back in 2014, the two artists shared the stage at a private Paisley Park event celebrating the release of Prince’s albumsPlectrumelectrum and Art Official Age. K Dot joined him at the Yahoo-sponsored party to perform “What’s My Name,” a deep cut from 1998’s Crystal Ball. In newly resurfaced video of the performance, Kendrick adds his own verse at the beginning of the song before handing the reigns over to The Purple One and his all-female band. It’s electrifying, to say the least.
